Over the last couple of years, the main focus has been building 'Content Management Systems' (known as CMS's). A Content Management System allows the owner of a website to add, update or delete content within their website.
CMS's can come in all shapes and sizes from an e-commerce solution that allows a retailer to update their product catalogue to complex systems that integrate into a variety of existing in-house software.
If a client wants it, and it is within the realms of reality, we'll develop it in to a robust, easy to use system.
Consultancy
Sandferne Solutions has been the technical arm of numerous web designers. It seems to be a perfect fit. We love the things that web designers hate (the database interactions, the api integrations, general server coding). Seeing a web design come to life with working, reliable functionality that renders designs exactly as it was intended is a joy. We don't crave notoriety and are happy to be the silent geek that end clients are unaware of. As long as the client is happy, we're happy.
Really techie stuff
Although we do large numbers of CMS's, we've also got extensive knowledge in building and using API's so that two systems can share data efficiently. With so many fine products out there collecting useful information, it can be of significant value to be able to extrapolate and combine relevant data in a system.
Sandferne Solutions are also able to create automated processes that run on servers to acheive specific tasks. For example, a client required an xml file to be downloaded from an external server periodically, processed and stored in a database.
